Once on This Island, Jr.                     

                July 9 and 10 mark the opening of The North Street Playhouse’s series of Summer Ampler performances. On Friday July 9 and Saturday, July 10, the summer theatre camp students will perform “Once on This Island, Jr.” by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Based on the original “The Little Mermaid” story by Hans Christian Andersen, the musical is set in the Greater Antilles and features music with a distinct Caribbean beat. For the past two weeks twenty-seven students between the ages of nine and sixteen years have been singing, dancing and creating costumes and props under the direction of

Michael Teets and Dana Floyd-Sutter.
